First, I'd like to say that I've read most of your thoughts on the game this weekend and am impressed that you all are knowledgeable and level-headed. Most other boards can't analyze a game realistically, or simply say that the other team sucks and we're going to kill them, etc. etc. See sh****bevo.

You'll find most Nebraska fans like Texas A&M, as we are very similar culturally. We also have a mutual hatred for the Longhorns. I hope that the Nebraska fans you encounter this weekend are fun and polite, and I hope you all are the same. We really will miss you guys as well as the old Big 8 next year. Anyway, onto the analysis.

First, we know how intimidating your stadium is and I can't wait to see the record-setting student crowd you guys have. It's going to be unreal and I wish I could be there. However, we have played in another very loud stadium this year at Washington, and the away crowd gives our defense a chance to communicate. I think it will be tough early on, but we'll adjust to the crowd.

I've watched Tannehill in a few games this year and he definitely is a skilled player. I was also impressed by how fast he was during the OU game and know we'll have our hands full trying to defend him from scrambling. As far as passing goes, I think he will have a huge dropoff from previous games. Our secondary is the best in the nation and Pelini specializes in making good QBs look bad. He'll have good throws here and there, but I think he will be too inexperienced for such a veteran and talented secondary.

Your running game is much more of a concern for us. As you know, we have struggled at times during the run this year, although we do seem to be improving lately. Still, I'm sure Cyrus Gray and Tannehill both will have some big runs against us. If you can establish enough of a run game, this could mean a victory for you.

As far as Nebraska's offense vs. your defense, it all depends on how healthy Martinez is. I hate that he's probably not up to 100% and I'm sure you all would rather beat us if he were. But even if he's close, he does have the potential to beat teams with his arm. He's no Manning, but he had a 5 TD record-setting performance against OSU this year. What concerns me more is his decision making, as he's prone to making stupid, rash mistakes under pressure. If Miller or any other of your D front pressure him, he's more likely to fumble or try a pass that he shouldn't try. He will not have any breakout runs this game, your defense is too fast and too ready. He may pick up yards here or there on bursts though.

Our running game I'm not quite sure about. I was worried about it against Missouri and we tore them apart, so who knows. I expect it to be tough with few big breaks - and I think we'll have to grind it out, which is an advantage for you. We have a fumbling problem. But if we can establish a run game, burn clock, and have our secondary shut down Tannehill, that will help toward a Nebraska victory.

Reasons aTm might win: A QB who can run, a good running back, and the crowd. If you win, I highly doubt it'll be through the air.

Reasons Nebraska might win: Too strong a secondary and a run game that burns clock. Plus, Martinez has big play capability. (Also, don't be fooled by scores like ISU's. You probably didn't watch the game since it was on Gameplan, but most of their points came off Nebraska turnovers and had nothing to do with the defense.)

I'm encouraged by two things - your inexperienced quarterback who, though he has tremendous potential, has yet to play a defense this fast and good - and Pelini's end-of-season momentum. We are very good toward the end of the year, and I'm hoping that continues.

Anyway, I'm not even sure about venturing a score for this game as I really do think it could go either way. Probably somewhere in the late 20's to low 30's for either team. It sounds obvious, but whoever doesn't turn it over and whoever executes better will win this.

I'm hoping for a good one. Good luck with the rest of your season (after this game). And beat Texas.

Good post, Husker fan. I'll never forget those mid-90s husker teams. Scary good.

A&M is going to try to run until you can stop it. We'll then try to set up our play action game and quickpassing game, depending on what your DL and LBs do.

Your secondary is phenomenal, but we aren't limited to one or two receiver -- we'll trot out at least 3 WR's (sometimes 4) on every play that are dangerous after the catch.

I expect y'all to run at our middle until we can't stop you. I also expect Tim DeRuyter to use Von Miller in some new ways, as you'll be trying to neutralize him. I don't know how TMart is against zone blitzes, but we're going to find out.

Safe travels, here's to a great night game at Kyle Field

Out of curiousity, how many games this year have the DBs faced a hurry up offense? I know OSU runs one and they put up 41 points.

Tannehill is smart and not exactly inexperienced, he was a wide reciever for two years so far, he knows multiple levels of the offense and reading the defense.

I agree that BP's game plans get stronger as the year goes on because he can see more what the opposing offense is going to run. However, Sherman has shown to be very flexible when it comes to adjustments and disecting defensive game plans.

My honest thought that the 12th Man is going to be the big factor for the game. You say that the offense can get used to gameday atmospheres, but it can get pretty salty on Kyle Field, and I've seen several good Qbs make their worst gameday decisions on Kyle Field. If Nebraska can minimize big plays for the Aggies, it will help the offense from being overwhelmed. I am seeing a hungry and streaking A&M win, 31-27

I enjoyed your analysis, and I agree that this one could go either way. However, don't be foolish enough to compare the Washington student crowd to the 12th Man. As those huskers who attend the game will soon find out for themselves, there really is no comparison.

Good post but also have to disagree with comparing Washington to Kyle Field. I've been at U-dub for the Apple Cup rivalry game with Wazzu (when both were good teams). It doesn't compare.

Great post Husker fan. I hope that your fan base has nothing but positive things to say after visiting Aggieland. You make valid points and support your analysis from previous games, solid. I hope tomorrow night that you will be thoroughly impressed and have underestimated the atmosphere at Kyle Field as well as our team. I'm willing to bet the farm that this will be a knockdown, dragout, chin-strap busting game. This is one heck of a way to close out my Senior year at Kyle Field. It should be a good one!

Best of luck in the Big 10 Nebraska, my #2 favorite team of the Big 12.

one thing don't get from all the husker comments, while your secondary is very good ags receivers will be the best you have faced. not so sure this the big advantage all huskers seem to think it is.

I definitely think our receivers are the most talented NU will have seen by far this year.

I'm not buying that the huskers will lock down our passing game, especially with how Tannehill has the offense clicking at such a fast tempo.

Nebraska's secondary is good, but we have a few too many weapons to not be effective through the air.

That was a good read and thank you for sharing that. We too worry about you guys. What helps us is a rejuvinated offensive line that is finally clicking. I think we may do well on the ground and that will open things up for our receivers and TE.

Best of luck to you guys and I'll be praying for an injury free game.

I definitely have not underestimated Kyle Field, and know that it is very intimidating and holds some 10,000 more than Husky Stadium.

However, the loudest sound ever recorded at a college football game was at Husky Stadium. The cameras for their games shake because of the acoustics off the metal roofing. We'll see if it's any louder than it was at Washington, though I'm sure overall the atmosphere will be more intimidating at aTm.

As far as the five good receivers... I'm sure you do, but we've played many, many good receivers before. They'll make some catches, but I'm not overly worried. I still maintain that your running game is more of a threat.

I also forgot to mention that I've read your O-line gives up a tremendous amount of pressure/sacks. This could be another factor. We don't have anywhere near the D-Line of last year, but we've improved mightily in the last few games.

Along that same line, our O-line, like the rest of our team, is extremely up and down. We have really good days and really bad days. We'll see which one shows up tomorrow (though we usually play to our competition, and I expect our team to be fired up about tomorrow).

Husker fans in general are my favorite to be around when they come to town. Generally very nice and down to earth people. Hoping for a great game!

I watched that game, and it was wild. The shaking camera probably has something to do with placement of said camera. For example, the press box at A&M shakes (see Nebraska 98 clip after we recovered a fumble in the end zone).

Great analysis and pretty much my feelings. Check out what I wrote about this game and all Big XII games on www.dfwsportsfans.com it should be up tomorrow morning from what I'm told.

Long story short this game scares the crap out of me because you're pass D is so good. There have been times this year where we have abandoned the run way too early and that's something we can't afford to do tomorrow. My fear is that special teams will determine this game and our punter sucks horribly and our kicker is average, whereas you have one of the best in the business. Should be a great game, hopefully the nation takes notice!

Good luck, Big Red.

Good analysis overall. I did watch the Huskies vaunted home crowd against the Huskers and UCLA last night. I have heard Texas high school stadiums sound louder than that.

I think our special teams are much improved sans punting the ball.

How do Nebraska's special teams play?

I also forgot to mention that I've read your O-line gives up a tremendous amount of pressure/sacks.

Early in the year, they did. That has not been the case overall since Tannehill became the starter and we shuffled the O-line a bit. Tannehill tends to get rid of the ball pretty quickly, for the most part. And other than a few lapses here and there, this has not been a problem of late.
