A&M has been in talks with SEC for some time now, according to the SI.com article.

Well I agree Matt Jackson is pretty weak, but I think John Blowpez is somewhere in the middle. Personally, I prefer John and Lance.

Regardless of source, I hope we got an invite and hope we say yes. Let the horns play weeknight conference basketball games in Corvalis and Pullman. Let them fit in with the Pelosi Conference. Give me the shorter travel east and damned good money of SEC.

As I've been saying to the less astute ones here who have been laughing at everyone talking about SEC- you'd have to be an idiot to think that a conference holding all the cards like the SEC is not at least looking and talking about their options re Texas A&M.

The 6 team deal to PAC is a sideways move, trading Neb for USC, Kansas for AZ.

US and the horns to the SEC = absolutely no value.

Going without the horns = plenty of value
- recruiting vs tu
- we lose the little brother thing
- success is no longer considered mutually exclusive
- revenue sharing

Unfortunately, cow isn't as stupid as she looks. She's a dirty old *****, but she knows her business well. She knows who would be getting the short end of A&M-SEC/UT-PAC 10.

I HOPE that the compromise negotiated today is Texas to the Big 10 and A&M to the SEC.

I agree that the split from tu would be a huge benefit for A&M, particularly in recruiting.

When a Houston kid hears that the farthest road game takes him to the Swamp to play the Gators on ABC or to Pullman/Seattle/Corvallis for a game that begins at 11:00pm CST on ESPN, that will be compelling.

Beyond that, the Pac 10 teams just don't have the brand appeal of those in the SEC in football. Other than USC, no one in the Pac10 has been relevent for more than 2 consecutive seasons in the last 20+ years...or in the lifetime of a current HS athlete.

Let the sips go battle with Stanford for who can win the most championships in sports you never knew existed.

A&M belongs in the SEC!!! They need to show these Florida Gators who has the better fans and traditions (as well as a very good football team).... UF is like our tu in Texas... everything revolves around UF. It will be my dream to watch an A&M vs UF game in Gainsville..and even better.. watch an A&M vs UF game in College Station..(it will be a bit of a drive for me).

I'd love to go to the SEC, but let's not start making things up.

If you've never sat in Tiger Stadium for an Aggie/LSU game, there is no way to appreciate that rivalry and what we could gain in the SEC. Bill Byrne never has!

My mistake BMX, I should have said 10:00. I am EST and many west coast games start at 8 pacific and don't begin until my bed time.

I admit that an A&M game would probably start earlier in the day, but that fact won't interfere with this claim during recruiting.

Baylor football is west of I-35, baseball and basketball are east. tu football is west of I-35, tu baseball is east.
