I'd say this decreases the chance that both Leach and Myers are back next year. One of them would almost certainly have to be forced out. Filing a TRO against your boss to let you do your job generally isn't a good way to maintain a successful working relationship.

Well I was hoping Florida would take Stoops out of OU before Meyer reversed his decision to quit. Now it looks like Leach could be gone.

If he's suspended with pay, I don't see any legal basis for him doing anything about it. He hasn't been damaged by that, and he hasn't been slandered. Crappy lawyer.

My guess is TT has some other witness besides James' son. This seems like theater on Leach's part to give him some leverage.

This almost takes the sting away from the Indy Bowl debacle.

I just listened to the ESPN interview with Leach's attorney and that guy was about as smooth as sandpaper. It was clear that he either had no idea what was going on in this matter or that he needed to avoid providing any answer to every question asked. Either way he was stumbling and stuttering through those few minutes and did no favors for Leach with that interview.

I am surprised TT is taking any action. Their students have been out of control for two decades and they do not seem to be concerned about that.

If Leach is suspended, there is a chance he'll miss an $800,000 bonus due to him at the end of this year. His attorney is saddled with a terrible client. Leach is offering up media quotes instead of shutting up. Leach has called James a "little league dad."

If Leach gets his restraining order will his team have to stay 100 feet away from him?

I heard from a TT alumn last night that the BOR, President, and AD all want Leach gone - they have wanted him gone since the original contract debacle. He said they are using this incident very much like Fran's letter incident to get them out of paying 800K on Dec 31 and only require paying him the 400K per year buyout - which they feel can be negotiated down given his "BEHAVIOUR". Leach's only supporter has been absent from the discussions. Also there have been informal talks with Bryles and his frustrations with Baylor, this was supposed to be a break out year for them. So that is adding fuel to the fire to get rid of Leach ASAP so they can move in Bryles and hopefully stop the potential recruit exodus. Why do I trust this source? TT alumni, and he is a head referee for HS football in the central Texas corridor. So he is well connected with sources within the TT athletic department (recruiters).

Getting fired sucks, but at least Leach will go down with dignity. Oh, wait ...

Prediction: I look for Gerald Myers to begin leaking Mike Leach stories one by one to the media. As I remember, it was a Lubbock sports writer who was a friend of Spike Dykes who started the "Leach is a boozer" issue. Myers could use him (if he is still writing for the A-J), but I suspect that he will leak nationally. This will get so much more entertaining before it's over!

Well, evidently he filed an order to restrain Adam James too. How'd that work out for 'im?
