The TMF has gone too far with this BS. The Ags have BY FAR the largest donation + season ticket prices of most significant football programs in the country. Check LSU, Nebraska, USC, Washington, Penn State, Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, Oregon, Oklahoma, Colorado, Michigan State ... It's pretty sickening.
I had planned on it, but not at those prices. I need to buy 4 tickets--then drive up there, get a hotel room, food, gas, etc. HELL NO!!! The 12th man foundation, I assume, set the prices. They priced themselves right out of my price range. PISSES me off too. I've paid for 4 season tickets for 20 years--but will NOT pay this amount!!!! Why is the OU game cheaper????
Not that they've thought it out well, but they could actually wind up selling to two different markets here.
Many season ticket holders will think, "I'm paying way over market value for what I'm buying already, no way I'm going to compound the effect." But you might have a whole batch of other alums that live in the Dallas area that think, "No way I'm going to overpay for season tickets and spend all the supporting cash to make 7 games in College Station," then rationalize grossly overpaying for one local game as a comparative "bargain."
So I think you could have every season ticket holder give a thumbs down on this thread and still see the stadium close to full (for the first year, anyway) with Ags who live around Dallas that will only attend one game next year along with the people who fly in to make a couple of games each year choosing this one.
I can afford the higher ticket price but won't pay it.
I am still thinking on the $85 tickets. My feelings are the TMF & Byrne have really screwed up on this game. I just don't see many Ags paying $300 to go watch the team play. I fear the game is going to be played in front of a half full stadium.

C'mon. I understand why our football tickets are high (half of Kyle belongs to the students), but still even then I think that is OK- I can handle that. BUT $300 for one game X's 2? In a good economy I wouldn't do this and surely not now.
Screw it- love the Ags but not that much.
I assume Arky is paying the same? Would like to see their reaction.

Why not buy one of the 50 dollar tickets and go support the team. No law says you have to sit in the rich guy section.
The biggest gouge in my view is the 38 buck parking. Arlington doesn't have a bus system; they spend all their city tax money giving money to gazillionaires to pay for their stadium.
if i lived in dallas i would consider it (buy buying at the last minute and hopefully at less than $300 per ticket)
however i still think this is complete bull crap pulling a Kyle Field game away from campus every other year!!!
every year we are assured one good non conference opponent at home. now, each year our game with a good opponent will be in dallas. we will be left with bs games at Kyle (WHERE COLLEGE FOOTBALL SHOULD BE PLAYED...ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES!)
I thought about the same thing GiveUsRoom said about the DFW area Ags that don't/won't invest the time/money in season tickets.
To them, the tickets are $85 and $125. If I'm going to get the $125 ticket, maybe I'll just go ahead and throw in a donation (get the 80% tax write-off) since I don't currently donate to the TMF.
Also throw in the DFW Ags that are season ticket holders and see this as an opportunity to see their teams play in the newest football stadium in the country. These folks can rationalize the $125 seat since the associated football game costs (driving 400 miles round trip, eating out multiple times over a day or two, etc).
Then you have folks like me that say, why not attend year 1. I currently have the means to give an additional $175 per seat donation, so why not do year 1 up right.
After showing the prices to my sip friend in the office, he reaches into his desk drawer and pulls out his $125 Rose Bowl NC game ticket from 2006. We both got a good belly laugh out out of the A&M Arkie ticket price.
I will go, but will not take all the family like had hoped to. Price is ridiculous.
