wow, come on now, u can't say things like that after they got their buts whooped by wake, and beaet a lowely WSU team, sure we got beat by ASU but those upsets are happening more often. That young quarterback might feel the pressure and throw a few INT's in our game, u just never know

I'm just glad we have a few more weeks to get the system under control. I still think we can win that one. Don't think we will run away with it, but by then we should be in "better" shape.

If BU was playing A&M next weekend, I bet the spread wouldn't be more than -7 for A&M.

No one really knows what the teams will look like in 2 months anyway. People just get excited for new QBs, and Griffin gives fans and commentators a reason to say, "Look out, Baylor might not suck!"

Neither team is in position to talk much smack at the moment. Too many unknowns.

As a Baylor fan, my perception of A&M would change tremendously is A&M beats Miami, or if they stay close and have a couple of bad breaks to beat them.

My thought process is that A&M simply lacks speed at the WR spot, and desperately lacks speed at the 2nd and 3rd level. While Miami is merely an average team, they are FAST. If A&M is able to beat Miami, my perceptions change. If A&M loses by < 10, my perceptions won't change. If A&M gets blown out, I'll start to think Sherman doesn't know how to implement his offense at the college level, and that A&M is a 3-4 win team tops.

hurin, do u think that Baylor can make it to a bowl this year (im not trying to argue, just to have a decent conversation), it might be tough having a true freshman at the helm

I wouldn't say we'll get dominated, but any of you that have only seen the scores and haven't seen Griffin play need to tap the breaks.

You should at least be concerned. I don't know how our D will do against them. Hopefully the O would win the game for us as their D isn't very good.

No, I don't think Baylor can make a bowl game. Baylor has "no chance" games against UT (in Austin), Tech, OU, Missouri. That leaves @ Nebraska (next to impossible), ISU (should happen), OSU, A&M. Baylor will have to win 3 of those 4 to make a bowl, and that assumes we beat UCONN . . . you know, the same UCONN that just PASTED Virginia by about 40.

Baylor has a lot of weaknesses that are getting covered up by Griffin's play. It is almost impossible to overestimate his impact; ie, he hasn't thrown an INT yet through 10 quarters, he was second in the Big XII is passing efficiency through 2 games, and he is currently 7th in the NATION in rushing. Baylor has "middle of the road" Big XII talent at 3 positions, LB, OL, RB. We have bottom tier talent at WR, DL. We have Texas High School 5A talent at DB. Our kicker couldn't make a girls soccer team.

I always "hope" for a better tomorrow, but the fact is I don't think we have enough weapons around Griffin to make a run.

I'm just trying to be a realist. The heart hopes for 6-6, the head says 4-8, and at best 5-7.

The only team Baylor has played that is worth a flip held them to 13 points. That was Wake Forest, in week 1 of the season. Next week Baylor plays at U Conn. U Conn is at least worth a flip. We'll know more about Baylor then. Anyone can make a prediction. As for me, I predict that there will be many thousands of predictions before the annual Battle Of The Brazos this year. Gig 'em!

I've got a question for you Ags . . .

Baylor's top rival is A&M, though you guys obviously don't view us that way (nor should you with the past 20 years as a guide).

So with that in mind, would A&M rather go 6-6 with an "bad" loss to Baylor, or would you rather go 5-7 with a win over BU?

If you were to flip the question, I'd take the bowl . . . but there are a hell of a lot of Bears that would take the strong win over A&M.

Baylor got stomped by the only decent team they've played.

BU just played a non D-1 team and probably the worst Washington State team in decades. WSU will probably go 1-11 or maybe 0-12 this year.

On one hand, 6-6 means a (crap) bowl.

On the other hand, losing to BU is kind of like being beat up by a girl.

If you honestly believe that you're probably not an Aggie fan. You either need to tell us the truth about what team you represent or on the off chance you are an Aggie fan pick another team to 'support'.

Its football it would be an insult to whatever opponent we were playing to say they cant win. Where would the fun and excitement in a game be without the possibility of losing?

If Baylor beats us fair and square congrats to them. Me and all the 12th man will be pulling for the team and if Baylor can overcome that then they deserve the W.

Baylor is a toss up at this point. We need to show a LOT of improvement before we can be considered a favorite in that game.

No way Baylor beats UConn. If they do, I would say Baylor can beat both us and possibly osu or tech. Uconn is a newly powerful program, if it was an ACC or Big 10 team right now it would probably be 1st or 2nd in the conf.

Well, if he said it, it must be true.

The ONLY two shots at wins for gaylor the rest of the season are isu and A&M at home. gaylor will be 2-8 or 3-7(win over isu) when they play the Ags near the end of the season. Then they get tt to close out, at tt. If they win four games this year, it will be a marquee year.

They may be playing A&M for bragging rights, but they sure won't be playing for anything else.

Didn't Baylor snag an Ag OL recruit? It's just one, but if the trend continues, so will the close games. None of these athletes are bad, and w/ Coach Briles at the helm, Baylor will be competitive in the next few years simply because of the recruits he can pull in. He made UH competitive, I don't see why he couldn't do the same at Baylor. I think it will be a close game this year simply because they won't be intimidated.

Baylor will beat A&M, simply because their OL doesn't suck rocks.

If we played next week Baylor would beat us, but not as bad as Miami will. Since the game is played later in the season we have some chances to improve enough to not lose. However, the last time they beat us was because of good QB play on their part. He kept them in the game and won it in overtime.

That argument doesn't work the way we looked against Arky State and New Mexico though.


It's too early to tell, but if you are already chalking up a November game as a win you are not being realistic. No one knows how we change and they change over the next 2 months.
