Will Lyles is bad for texas moreso than any program in the nation so I think Mack Brown is extra motivated to bring him down.

I think he was behind the Lache/Oregon story and I think he is behind the Van story as well. The latter was easy b/c Van was on his staff very recently.

I was think it was more of a warning to Trey Williams and B. Addison to severe ties with Lyles if they want to come to A&M.

While stamping out street agents helps OU and tu a lot it helps the Ags too. Look at who street agents delivered to LSU, Oregon, and OkieSt. Ags get a few of them but the Ags would also get the guys on OU and tu rosters that are on there instead of the delivered blue chips.

If the Ags get Matt Davis, Trey Williams, LaDarrell McNeil, and Bralon Addison this year it will be from all the exposure of street agents.

Those saying SEC SEC SEC this stuff is the norm for recruiting there.

It wouldn't surprise me if the OP is correct. If Mack can rig votes to get his team a last minute Rose Bowl, there's probably no limit to his reach. The guy is a pure politician with a truckload of money to throw around behind closed doors.

Van Malone has never been on Mack Brown's staff.

AGAZ03, not sure if your username indicates class of '03 or not, or how old you are, which might indicate what you read at that time or have heard since those days, but the statement about "early RC days" is uncalled for. I would bet my last dollar (although that isn't very much) that RC was and is as straight up a guy as Sherm. Only two things that were proven under RC's watch is that there were some players who had legit jobs and were sleeping on the job or cheating on time cards. Nothing ever pointed to RC doing or knowing anything about rules violations. The other issue proven was how biased newpapers and the NCAA was towards A&M. Please don't disgrace RC's character, he is a class as they come.

If you really want to go down the conspiracy trail then.... are all these Texas based street agent stories happening to keep the SEC from expanding into Texas and thus stop super conferences? If Auburn and LSU are nailed for violations and A&M implicated in recruiting shenanigans, with all recruits involved being from the state of Texas, goodbye moving to the SEC.

The question raised elsewhere is why is Malone telling this story and at this time? Are questions being asked of him by the NCAA that Malone wants to be out in front of?

I'll deny the gold TA's had anything to do with Sherrill. The TA was bought and paid for by SMU (this has been reported many times over) Got any proof otherwise? No you don't...

Any time something goes against the sips, it's becasue someone cheated or they were cheated somehow. They end up getting the kid from Skyline w/ alleged street agent connections and it's now on the up and up I suppose.

I know one of Matt Davis' coaches very well he thinks VERY highly of Sherman. So much so that I was quite suprised. Sherman must be doing a good job at KF. It should be noted that the TT coaches work KF hard too.
