#1 Why are you yelling?
#2 Why does Byrne have to explain anything. We don't know the details of this deal or the details of any deal tu may have offered? They may have been trying to tie us to them as a second banana for years to come.I sincerely doubt it was a 50 -50 deal. It may have tied our hands with moving anywhere without tu approval. It may have tied our hands on coming up with a deal from other sources.Byrne needs to keep us independent from tu and play his cards close to the vest.

This goes on in the sec as well. Both florida and bama, to name a few. Floridas pays then 10m per year in 08, which is about the equivalent to 12m per in '11.

I don't think anyone would expect us to jump in and immediately compete with the top half of the conference. Hell, we might barely hold a .500 record in conference play over the first 3-5 years. The issue is long term stability and benefit. That is what the SEC provides.

Maybe so. But after 2 years of sucking people would start calling for Sherman's head, then we'd have to start all over with another coach, and repeat the cycle of mediocrity.

Mississippi State and South Carolina competed in the SEC this year and historically Texas A&M has a much stronger football program than these two schools.

I'm all for it..... LSU may actually be the best team in the SEC. I think they would have rolled Oregon worse than they did us.... we can be competitive immediately!
