Saw this in the October 12th Man Magazine - quote from a text that Heard recently sent to one of the A&M academic advisors.

"I want to come back to Aggieland. My body left, but my heart stayed. The reason why I go hard now is that I don't want to be remembered for how I left. I tell people that I went to A&M".

Given that so many of our former football players who are now in the NFL choose to plug their high school instead of Texas A&M during player introductions, I found this refreshing - especially since it was said by one of the last guys that we might have thought would say something like this.

He blew the chance that he had here, then finished his college career at Memphis, yet now in the NFL (Raiders) he realizes what he had.

Yes, his hit on Cart McCry was awesome and completely legal.

I'm glad that we use it without apology in our pre-game video, despite the fact that longhorn nation still whines about it and thinks that it deserves jail time.

I've always wondered what helmet size he wore. Darn he had a big melon.

I disagreed with how the athletic department handled the situation. They should have backed Kellen instead of selling him out with a forced apology.

Love 'em! BIG reason we beat Texas.

Kellen Heard was a sip slayer. He's cool in my book.

Him pushing McCry down after the INT was totally legit and he should not have been flagged.

What sucked was the spineless AG's that didn't back him up.

Yep. First day of youth football, the coach tells you to play till the whistle. Not his fault that Colt wanted to take the play off.

I support the hit..heard was a b east..except he seemed to always get flagged with a personal foul at the wrong times..

I thought he already finished a degree here and that is why he was able to play immediately at memphis (using that ncaa grad school rule for transfers).

Either way it is awesome he still loves the school.

Something I give Sherman credit for is that he does not hold grudges. He has had J-train back on the sidelines despite their issues and I am sure Kellen is welcome back.

Sherman is very welcoming to all our former players from what I can see and that is a good thing.

That play didn't draw a penalty. The hit was about 2 tenths of second after the whistle blew.

Heard hit Colt as the sip was illegally removing game gear on the field after an interception, Mark Dodge had been tackled a second or two before, so it was a little late, but the hit did not warrant an ejection from the game.

Bennett hit him just after he released the ball, no sane person could call it a late hit, but the sips still do. This hit put Colt on his Cart.
