Cliff's notes:
Someone didn't like a thread or something I posted on said thread. He called senior management to say I had incited and was responsible for criminal activity against him as a result of the post and to say that I was posting on City time, despite the posts being made from my phone. The URL to the thread was given to management, as well as my user name.
All but two posts were made during discernible lunch or break times or after hours. He further said that I was "acting as an agent of the City in instructing people to commit criminal activity against him."
Senior management said I should re-evaluate posting that could lend the appearance of being on the clock and let the issue go at that. I was also given the complainant's name and phone number and encouraged to call him to discuss the criminal activity thing since it was clearly not a matter management had any interest in.
I called him and he insisted I was somehow responsible for some form of undetermined criminal activity (he said even he didn't know what criminal activity had transpired), despite my statement that my post was clearly a joke. He said he was calling the Sheriff's Department and would take it from there.
The guy seemed to be lashing out at the only person he could identify from the thread, which he felt was being used to sdisseminate negative information about him. I am the single most identifiable person on this board, so he came after me. He told me directly that he had no intention of speaking to me about it, and his only desire was to report the thread and my "involvement" to senior management. I doubt it had the effect on my employment he hoped it would.
The internet, my friends, is serious business.
