So, my yard is a wreck. Does anyone have any recommendations on a professional service to control weeds and replant grass???

Don't use TruGreen unless you want harassing phone calls all the time begging you to add on extra services. They claim that because they farm out their telemarketing that it is hard to get you on their no-call list.
what about Aggieland Green????

Did that. Threats did nothing. Talking to the Sales Manager did nothing. Even cancelling my account got me 3 more calls including one from their "customer retention department". Finally had to contact the Attorney General and report it to the BBB to actually get the calls to stop.
Aggieland Green. excellent service and they have actual knowledge of caring for the local grasses.

Do it yourself. There is plenty of info available, and you can save a pretty penny. You also can control what goes on your lawn. Go to Aggie Horticulture or contact Agri-Life Extension for recommendations and instructions. Also, Producers Coop.

I use Aggieland Green also. Tim did what Truegreen and one other company couldn't - fixed my grass. He is the only one that actually pulled up the grass and looked at the roots. His number is 690-7300. LOL he is in my phone as Tim the yard guy.
Another 'vote' for Tim at Aggieland Green. In addition to the service, I also like the periodic emails that he sends out that provide information on things you can do to help keep your yard healthy in between service visits.
We are scheduled to start service with Tim and Aggieland Green. While I can not speak to results yet, I can speak to the professionalism and friendliness of Tim.
He came out, gave us a fair estimate, and did not put any pressure on us to use his service.
I am really looking forward to him getting our lawn in shape.
