When did Meredith Stancik take over for Crystal as primetime news anchor on KBTX? I know Crystal married Zwernemann, a reporter for the San Antonio Express-News.

The website says Crystal is on at noon and 6 and Meredith does 5 and 10. Haven't watched it this week so I don't know if that's accurate.

I don't know - maybe she just prefers to spend more time in the evenings with her husband or didn't like being out that late? Maybe some of the KBTX people can chime in...

Changes like these are rarely made with grace and tact at KBTX. I've known enough people who worked there over the years who describe the same thing: sudden heavy-handedness by the general manager instead of it being the decision of the news director. I hope Crystal isn't another victim of that. She seems very nice.

she could be getting fed up with the BS at that station... [removed -STAFF] The stories I've heard...[removed due to "unsubstantiated rumor" and "personal attacks" -STAFF] This was years ago....but the mentality still exists.

I miss Crystal Galny on the evening and night news! Not to say that Meredith is not a good reporter! I wonder when Meredith soon to be husband will start his reporting as the new sportscaster for KBTX?!

I understand the reasoning, and I would do the same strictly from a partnership/business relationship standpoint with KBTX, but this happens on very nearly every thread about any business in the area every day on this board with nary a STAFF edit.
