I currently own a M&P .40 and feel it is to large to carry every day. Looking for the perfect concealed carry, preferably with a laser grip. I am open to any caliber. Comfort and concealability are the most important. Any recommendations?

That's a real nice piece 35, just not sure about the $1200. Would like to stay under $800 if possible otherwise I will "OWE" my wife. Anyone familiar with the Ruger LCP?

Get a M&P 40C. Same ammo, controls, and manual of arms. You can get a CT lasergrip and come in under budget.

That revolver won't cost 1200. That is just there list price. I would think you can get that pistol with laser grips for around 650. Check buds gun shop online.

there are 5 on gunbroker right now for less then 750 (some without the CT grips).

saw that Ray's in dallas had 642s, the 442s, and some 360s for $399. that was in February, but they might have not changed the prices.

Although there is no such thing as a "best", the one that I have found to be the best compromise between caliber, weight, and bulk is the Kahr PM9. It is shorter and substantially thinner than a J-frame, holds more rounds, and will re-load quicker. It is also much smaller than compacts such as the Glock 26 or M&P9c.

A Kahr isn't for everyone, so do your research before buying one. Also, there is the CW9 as well, which is longer and taller by about a half-inch, but costs a lot less....

i carry a Hk P2000 in .40 and feel it is right about perfect for me....i have very large hands and so the P2000sk was a bit small for me to feel really confident with....the P2000 conceals very nicely IWB

I purchased a LCP and laser sight a couple of weeks ago from Academy in Plano and would consider selling. I haven't had time to hunt for ammo, so it has not even been fired yet. I jumped on the LCP since they actually had one in stock, but now I wish I would have gone with a larger .40 cal gun, as this will be my primary gun for home defense as well. Edit - it has a 371 serial number, so it is not included in the recall.

I paid $347 for the Ruger with tax and $170 for the CT sight. I would consider selling for $450 if you're interested.

My choice is a S&W 642 loaded with +p 158 grain hollowpoints with a Crimson Trace gen. 2 Lasergrip and a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. Usually have it within reach.

I think I have found the perfect concealed carry weapon.

I carry a Taurus .357 Mag and shoot .38 specials. It works great for me.

I carry a Ruger SR9 and love it. Conceals great and I love shooting it. Now I just gotta find more 9mm ammo.

I think that a revolver is always a good choice for carry. The .357mag is also a good choice for defense purposes as well, provided that you can handle the recoil. The alloy j-frames are quite a handful with full-house .357's, so much so that a lot of owners will shoot +P .38's instead. However, if yours is a steel j-frame or one of the larger frames, then you will most likely be able to shoot .357 without a problem, once you get used to it.

As '35chililights' suggested above. A wheel piece is most dependable 99.7% of the time for CHL and close home defense. I carry a Rossi, model 351 ($250, sawed-off hammer tab) for conceal carry w/two speed loaders. No one can/should tell anyone what to carry. It's what is most comfortable w/hand size, place to carry on the person. Yes, the shotgun is the best home weapon only if one has had fair warning/notice.
