I would like to play if so.

I believe that there used to be (someone that knows please step in here) however when I was looking a few weeks ago I didn't find anything promising.

However, if your search doesn't pan out I've found the Reddit PvE server (p.nerd.nu) to be full of very nice people and lots of cool builds. They are going to start a new revision (read complete wipe and start over, happens every three months) this Wednesday provided 1.3 actually comes out.

They have creative and survival servers too, if that's your bag.

A group of us had a server a little while back that we were actively building the A&M campus on (we had Kyle Field about 90% finished and were working on areas around it). The hosting company sucked so we let the rental expire. We have the back-ups (mostly) and want to get another started but haven't had the funding (estimating ~$30/month).

Will there be a MC server again?

Yes, there will be a server back up soon. As soon as I get the old map from kbassil, wee_ag and I will get the server up. I'm willing to start today, if I can get that map.

We will need some funding though to keep this up each month. I will help pay for the server, but if we want more slots, we will need donations.

It think this is the best time to get the server back up. Everyone is on winter break, and I'm already bored sitting here at home.

I'm in. I was just recently addicted to the game so I'm still game for making cool stuff. Although, I am married and will have less time than you college kids.

I have been playing on the Xbox and have it for PC, but haven't played in quite a while I would definitely be up for helping to create Aggieland in blocks.

Also, I would also be able to help with paying for a server.

Ok... the new Aggieland server has been purchased! I know jack about setting this stupid thing up and getting our old build into it but if you are interested in joining the build and want to be whitelisted, add you MC username here.

Not sure if it's possible to have two worlds (one for the AL build and one for general adventure playing) but if so I'll post info for that as well.

Once I get everything updated and finalized I'll post the IP for the server.

We are also setting up an Amazon Payments account so those who want to help keep the server running can contribute - more info to come but it's $25/month for the server.

Don't know what mods it will run - I've never run a server and the ones I've played on I didn't look into to see what mods they used.

At this point it's running MC 1.4.6 with no mods. I'm still working on getting the previous build to load correctly. Right now only about half is loading, hoping the server I bought is enough to handle it.

Things are looking better! Got the map to load and am now looking into a few mods to allow multiple worlds to play on the server. Thinking the creative Aggieland build, a normal play world and a hardcore world.

Staying up waaaay too late right now trying to get this to work.

Ok... I got the basics working. But need help from others more familiar with mods & MC than I.

I've created a 'Nexus' world that gives four portals to different worlds when you spawn in initially. Right now only the Aggieland build portal works. I need volunteers to hop on the server and test some things:

1) Upon entering Nexus you should not be able to build/destroy.

2) The portal to 'Aggieland' should work.

3) You should teleport in front of Kyle Field.

4) You should be in Creative mode after teleporting.

5) Recommendations to help this not suck so much.

Only those usernames from above have been whitelisted. Post your results as to what happened, and anyone that is better with mods let me know. I will OP you and can give you server admin privileges to help get things going.

The latest version lets you change permissions through command blocks, so you should be able to restrict building by putting users in adventure mode and then changing it to survival or creative when they leave the nexus.

Server shows it is running 1.4.5.

I got the 1.4.5 jar and was able to get into the world. I spawned on top of your nexus area and it told me that "You don't have access to go here..." Spawn protect must be on because I can't break the blocks to get into the portal room.

The server has CraftBukkit version:

git-Bukkit-1.4.5-R1.0-b2543jnks (MC:1.4.5)

By the way, vanilla Minecraft is so weird after playing Tekkit.

Ah, forgot I had to go to 1.4.5 for one of the mods.

Weird. When I teleport to spawn it puts me in the room.

Thoughts? I'm new to all this.

Minecraft. There are new objects called command blocks that allow for game mode changing and teleporting.

Ooooooo. That might make things easier.

What mods do you guys want running? The Aggieland build doesn't need any if we have people building that we trust. But what about the adventure/survival worlds?
