I apologize for not being able to attend your Headbanger's Ball Crush Party last night. Though I appreciate the invitation, I ran into some scheduling problems with an event called Silver Taps. In case you did not know, Silver Taps is held the first Tuesday of every month as a final tribute to any student who has passed away the previous month. If the entire Corps shows up, that would be about 1900. There are at least three times as many non-regs there as CTs, so I'd guess at least around 7500 total. More on the first one each year. Less when there is a Breakaway concert going on at the same time.

maybe there is hope for the future of our school. i'm glad to see somebody out there realizes the importance and values of the traditions that build A&M into the institution that it is today, realizes the importance of the past and respects those that have gone before us.

Matt has repeatdly run for yell leader and never gotten it. I'm glad that it hasn't affected his Aggie Sprit. I had a class with him once and he was really nice. Gig'em Matt!

Thanks Matt for letting everybody know what a great Aggie you are by attending Silver Taps. Kappa Kappa Gamma was obviously wrong for scheduling a crush party on the night of Silver Taps. But Matt's letter does nothing more than bring attention to himself. Instead of *****ing about people not going, he should rather encourage others to go next time.

That's bull****, and you know it. His letter was obviously not meant to bring attention to himself. It doesn't matter if he puts his name on it or just signs it "anonymous", his message was clear. I think he did a great job.

I read the mailcall and loved it and never even noticed who wrote it. If he did it for attention, he failed.

Lechnerd02 brings up a point. Why can't they reschedule Breakaway? The same logic certainly applies to it.

bad idea: have a crush party on the night of silver taps

even worse idea: apply this example to every single greek organization on campus and use it as a means to ridicule fraternities and sororities

i am really glad he called them on this. they should have known it was silver taps and yes-- they should be aggies first.

Breakaway usually ends around 10:15, but they always make it a point to end at 10 PM on Silver Taps nights.

As for the Aggies first comment, Aggies First is an orginazation composed of members of Greek life who believe being an Aggie comes first and do what they can to help reflect that within their respective greek Frat/sorority.

I'll promise you that the group of girls that scheduled that party were not members of the highly respectable AGGIES FIRST orginization.
