Roommate of a future roommate was a diver my freshman year ('79-'80) so I made a couple of visits. It rocked a slightly dilapidated Art Deco vibe at that point. In a mildewy sort of way though I can't remember if the original tile patterns were still present.

The weight room under DeWare was awful...

That pool sucked. And yes the weight room under Deware was absolutely terrible.

I think you could see that pool in "We've Never Been Licked", which sucked about as much as that pool, so it's quite fitting.

Took PE there beginning in September of 65. Wasn't Coach Anderson in charge? Crusty guy who was also the swim team coach. Always looking for talent to recruit to the team. I was not talent he was looking for.

Don't know when it was built, but Deware Field House was an old building.

Downs Natatorium and Coach Art Adamson. I don't think the pool itself was so bad but nothing else about that building was very good.
