I wish. I loved him as a player but that would be a clueless hire. Hope it happens!
um, I think the word "clueless" is a little too strong.
It might take him a couple of years to get up to speed, but I think he would be a great teacher with the potential to be a great recruiter.

He quit on the Astros. He's a fat cat (literally, figuratively, and nominally), and it has the appearance of a Drexler/Cougar High deal, where he'll do it until he gets bored and fails.

He may have been a very good pro and may be a good guy but it takes more than that an a year coaching HS ball to have developed the acumen to be a high level coach and manager of a major D1 program. That's a huge gamble that has a greater likelihood of not panning out than succeeding. That's a chance you take if you're a mid major without history and want to try and generate buzz. Not if you're considered an established power and want to maintain a high level of success. Just my opinion.
Don't think so. He is a good man and good ball player, however.
Needs college coaching experience first.
