Have I been living under a rock this year? Is this a thing? Any significance other than it looks cool? Ecker did it and everyone just followed suit? I've not noticed this "celebration" in other games this year but was more tuned in to see if we would dog pile after this one.... Am I taking crazy pills?

In baseball turning your hat around is usually reserved for when you win a championship of some kind.
Only three reasons you can where your hat backwards according to Childress. #3 is celebrating a championship. So this is the second time this year they have turned the hats around.
Only 3 times a man should ever wear his hat backwards-
1. Kissing his girlfriend
2. Watching fireworks
3. Winning championships.

Have done this after every type of championship win under Coach Childress.
I had a player tell me once, that if RC and crew ever catch you wearing a hat backwards (not under the three circumstances listed above), that the hat belonged to him forever. This could be if they see you in person, or in a pic on social media.

Is a regional championship really worthy of a hat turn? Seems like if the "championship" isn't worthy of a dog pile then it's not worth turning your hat backwards.
I don't really care if they turn their hat around every game, doesn't matter at all to me. But if you're going to save it for championships then save it for real championships.

This is true, we were not allowed to wear any sort of hat backwards unless it was one of the stated reasons in the previous post above and winning a Championship was def one we all enjoyed as a group. If coach caught you wearing a hat backwards, he indeed made you give it to him no questions asked and it was is FOREVER. I believe he enjoyed his collection of hats hes gathered over the years even wearing some of them personally lol.
One thing I still take to this day from Coach Childress is always removing my hat when sitting at a dinner table. Since stepping foot at A&M he taught us to always remove our hats when being seated and it is something that has stuck with me since.

I can tell you that back when our son was playing, Childress caught a player on campus with his hat backwards sitting at a bus stop one time. Needless to say, that player did a lot of running that afternoon.

That may be true. But it's been my experience that when kissing a girl it's even better if both of yalls pants are off.
