Has to seat over 10k according to SEC office which takes some of those off the list.

that's too bad. I mentioned this on here last year, but MGM Park just got finished last year in Biloxi. Right across the street from the beach. The Beau Rivage Casino & Resort is in the view as the stadium points towards the ocean.

Seats just over 6K though. But that would be the perfect venue for the SEC baseball tournament.

That would be the Gulf of Mexico. Not to be confused with the ocean.

Hold on Partner.
He was referring to the Antarctic Ocean or Southern Ocean and what do you know. It is pointed in that direction.

yeah the gulf. That too.

Point is, it's a brand new beautiful park located in a destination city in the heart of SEC country with freaking beaches and casinos across the street.

Agree, agree, agree. Which is exactly why I think the SEC put the 10k minimum on this. I think they want to stay in Hoover but maybe get a better money deal.

The parks listed page one are most all less that 10K.
These MiLB parks have 10k plus
Tampa - 11K
Memphis - 10K
Gwinnett - 10.5K

Other parks close are:
Nashville - 8.5K plus 1500 Berm
Disney - 9.5 plus Berm
Jacksonville - 6K plus 5KBerm
Birmingham - 8.5K
Chattanooga 6.3K
Charleston - 6K
Little Rock - 5.8K plus 1500 Berm
Clearwater - 7K plus 1500 Berm
Pearl, Mississippi Braves - 8.5K

Have watched games in everyone of these parks except Tampa. You have to
remember with the length of the tournament, that it affects MiLB teams schedule.

Memphis sucks for location/parking/general safety
Gwinnett is about 10 miles from Atlanta, good location, nice park of Braves AAA team.
Disney, nice park, watch Braves Spring Training last five years, great location and WDW!
Nashville, Birmingham and Pearl are all fine parks and locations.
Hoover is a multi-purpose stadium and centrally located. (just not a baseball park feel).

I've watched baseball games in over a 100 MLB/MiLB/College parks. Some built in 20's/30's
right up to our modern monsters. MiLB has been building some fine parks for the fans, seating 6-8K.

My first choice for the SEC would be Gwinnett followed by Disney, Nashville, Pearl, Birmingham,
and finally Memphis. Did not address Round Rock/Frisco/Tampa, just to far off the edge of Map.
Disney made the list with the entertainment for all fans.

Saw a game at the Nashville Sounds stadium.
Best I have ever seen for a minor league team and unlike Hoover there are lots of other Things to do.

Not big enough according to the SEC. Plus makes too much sense.

How about the park at Frisco?
Why would the SEC want the tournament in Frisco?
Frisco would be an awesome venue for many reasons.

1) Plenty of hotel capacity. SEC tournament would easily be accommodated.
2) 20 minute drive from a major international airport and Love field.
3) WAY more outside activities for fans.
4) Texas is a relatively new market for the SEC, this increases SEC visibility in Texas.
5) Beautiful ballpark with first rate concession facilities.

Oh and I forgot -

soon to have a lazy river in the outfield!
