The Texas A&M softball team enters the 2016 season ranked No. 24 in ESPN's Preseason Collegiate Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday, January 26th.
The 2015 team

• reached their 14th consecutive postseason appearance
• ended the season with a 40-20 record.
• lost to Oklahoma (2-0) in the NCAA Regional final.

The Aggie Classic will kick off the 2016 Aggies' season on February 12th, 2016 and February 13th, 2016.

Similar at the top to the coaches' poll, but the bottom sorts out better for the Ags by showing up No. 24 in ESPN. There was a fairly significant gap between 25 and '26' in coaches poll.

Let's hope for a solid start and the ladies to climb up in both polls. But the SEC is THE softball conference right now, so it's not going to be easy.

Even Moo U rebuilt their stadium this year.

I've been to all of the stadiums and Mizzou is definitely the worst by far. But the Aggies definitely need a new one as well.

Mizzou's stadium is an absolute joke, couldn't agree more there.

Missouri is building a new stadium which will open in 2017.

That's what I hear too, but it was supposed to have already happened, so I'll take the wait and see approach. That's why I'm hoping y'all get yours built first. A&M deserves a first class facility to go with the first class playing surface y'all already have because of Leo and Scott.

Some of those teams ranked ahead of A&M play in some really crappy cold or rainy climates and don't have the advantages of almost year round play. They must have some really good recruiting.

Any chance you have a projected starting lineup for tomorrow? Curious to know who gets the start in the circle?

Does anyone know the status of Katie Marks? She was one of our primary two pitchers last season and hasn't played yet this weekend.

Harrington and Show appear to be 1a and 1b. Marks has kept warm and almost came into a couple of games in the latter innings.

She will definitely get playing time. She was out of town yesterday with family.
