I guess record doesn't matter for sh*t.

Called it several days ago, knew we'd get screwed over.

I thought it was crazy that only two SEC teams got national seeds.

But TCU did a real good job of winning at the end.

56-0 would have had the Aggies just out of the top 8. Can't overcome the name on their chest. The NCAA has screwed the Ags at every turn and will do so as long as it exists.

Well we played out way out of it. Not explanation for TCU though

Total BS! the committee clearly went out of their way to spread the national seeds around. SEC needs to flex some muscle to make sure this doesn't happen again.

As AB2 stated in the other thread: We're 45-11. This isn't an order of operations issue

I guess the committee wanted 46-10 or 47-9 or 48-8

the most frustrating thing...in the final analysis...25-0 in the non-conference did not make a difference.

the Ags could have gone 20-5 or 21-4 in the non-conference and ended up in the same place

A&M will always have to be flawless to get any favors.

This. The team had some hard fought Tuesday games this season and found a way to win every single one of them. Apparently, that no longer means anything to the committee. You can drop 3 or 4 Tuesday nights and still be considered over a team that consistently beats the teams they "should" beat.

Strength of schedule was the problem. With a weak OOC schedule, even if you win all the games, as A&M did, the Committee doesn't look favorably upon it.

It's time for some 3 and 4 game OOC series with TCU, Rice and Texas. Even if you lose, at least the team gets better and your SoS improves. Win/loss record is always looked at in combination with SoS.

if you can't compete within your own conference, you're gonna get jumped. you called it, but we did it to ourselves. we didn't necessarily have to win - but we absolutely needed to compete.

12-3 is NOT competing

the Ags' fate was sealed after the back-to-back series losses to Arkansas and LSU.

I think the Ags could have swept South Carolina and that still would not have been good enough

TCU getting a national seed over A&M is a joke. Trying to spread around the national seeds is more PC than correct.

A&M has the better RPI
A&M has a better record in a much better conference
A&M went 2-1 and to the semi-final in the SEC tournament
TCU went 0-2 in a bad conference's tournament
A&M went 25-0 in non-conference
A&M had a better record against top 25
A&M has better SOS
A&M better record against RPI 1-25
A&M better record against RPI 26-50
A&M better record against RPI 101-200

That RPI was last updated 2 days ago.

Going by Warren Nolan, we were 6th.

That is a single game.

The Foggies lost to tech 8-1, they are a Natty Seed. (They did win the Big XII)
L'ville lost 7-2 to Clemson & 6-0 to FSU, they are a Natty Seed and were only 5-5 down the stretch. (The did win the ACC by a large margin)
UCLA lost their final two games to Oregon (They did win the Pac-12)

Agree with this but many here were saying there was no need to schedule up now that we are in the SEC. I do think TCU got the nod because they did attempt to schedule up and won their conference. Of course it usually a lot easier to win the Big XII then the SEC.

let me take a moment to bag on the Minute Maid Classic --- it didn't really help the Ags that much. Baylor was awful and missed the postseason. Likewise Nebraska collapsed in the second half and missed the postseason. The Ags ended up getting only 1 quality neutral site win

TCU followed the old Rice formula...

1. win a big non-conference series in February
2. win a few key midweek games
3. beat up on weekend tomato can conference mates

get national seed

Seems more of an anti-SEC campaign. The champions of the five major conferences get an auto eight seed. The champion of any smaller conference that has a top eight RPI gets a top seed too. Then whoever has the highest RPI from the big five conferences gets the remaining spots. Putting too much emphasis on conference champions and not truly awarding the eight best teams in the country.

I believe the SEC took a significant dip in teams in the field from 10 to 7.

the East Division really let down the league

Any chance Hyman traded the national seed for a weak regional and a pairing with the weakest national seed?

We were paired with TCU because we aren't in the same conference and the short distance to Ft. Worth.

I didn't think we would get this a and said so.

Anyway, how is UCSB hosting a regional in Lake Elsinore which is arguably a 6+ hour drive away from Santa Barbara?

Fullerton is hosting a regional and they can barely fill their ballpark in the regular season?

Dallas Baptist is hosting a regional- where? What stadium? On campus facility or the one Texas Wesleyan uses off Beech and I-30?

Missouri State is a Super Regional host? What is the size of their stadium?
