I find it interesting that we are near the top in home runs, but near the bottom in doubles. Though, we have less at bats than every other team, so that could be why.

#1 in batting and pitching is a good recipe for success!

The lack of doubles, triples and stolen bases indicates a lack of speed. With our on base plus slugging being #1 by a good margin, I would have thought we would score more runs. But part of it can be explained by the lack of innings due to 1 rain out and 2 - 7 inning games. Even after adjusting for that we are still behind where we should be given our OPS.

The good news is that our pitching has been outstanding! Credit RC.

We also have less ABs since we have batted in the 9th so few times this year.

Adjusted for the number of plate appearances we have scored runs at a higher rate than everyone in the SEC except Florida.

Leaders (Percentage of runs scored per total plate appearances - top 4):

Florida - 17.3%
A&M - 16.4%
Vandy - 16.0%
LSU - 15.0%

Today's opponent Arkansas -12.2%
