you have to really like baseball to buy a season ticket or suite in the outfield/left field. Too far from the action.

it's one thing to put the bleachers/cheap seats in LF...completely different to put the high dollar seats there. May be people dumb enough to spend big money for those seats

Those suites have living quarters and can be occupied year round.

The outfield suites will feature two bedrooms, a bath, kitchen and living space and will be available for use year-round.

On the other hand, you don't really have to like, or give a crap about baseball to buy a season ticket behind home plate

That place is going to be nice. Maybe we can get a phase II of Blue Bell on the drawing board soon. Definitely need more seating for the SEC games, need to get something in the works in the outfield seating wise.

I was told at the end of this past season that there is interest in developing something in the outfield and that the wheels have already started turning, FWIW. (I started a "Hide the Tracks?" thread so as to not hijack this one.)

Must be nice to have good baseball fans. Granted, there's not much else to do in and around Starkville, but this is another example of how weak our baseball support is compared to the rest of the SEC. We were great Big 12 baseball fans but bottom of the rung SEC fans.

So are those lofts like apartments or are they more like hotel rooms? ...

I would live there.

I don't know that we are the bottom, but we have a long way to go to match our actual commitment to baseball with what our fans demand in results. A lot of SEC programs put more money into baseball than we do. I know a lot of our fans believe we should be top 4 in the SEC every year, but the truth is our commitment to baseball is not in the top 4 in the SEC.

We are definitely the bottom of the SEC West...only above Auburn

Upgrades are nice and all, but Olsen was more fun (win or lose) when it was still a dump and there was an Aggie Alley, a student section that heckled the opposing players instead of each other, and half of the capacity wasn't devoted to hills.

Losing killed that atmosphere not the remodel

That's inaccurate, and shown to be by attendance figures. We had a CWS, league champion team the last year pre-remodel and the crowd was already floundering. Less people showed up to watch that on average than a 9 games under .500 2002 team. Cutting capacity and throwing in two hills didn't do much to help.

$Bill killed attendance with the way he treated long time season ticketholders and other fans. But the remodel did not help. The Remodel was designed at the big dollar fans/donors and not about atmosphere.

Colorado is correct. Monetizing Aggie alley started the decline as well.

Big dollar fans/donors right behind home plate and the dugouts that don't show up to most of the games resulting in a very poor image on tv.

Why couldn't we incorporate the rec center expansion into a left field lounge area? Since Aggie Alley is all but been ruined, it might be a cool feature.

The coolest part to me is that their jumbotron has two sides.
