I'm tired of drinking the cheap stuff. I want a milk that tastes better but is also better for you. Any recommendations?

Would prefer to stick with cow milk. Anyone heard of A2 milk?

Not sure. A decent review on it from someone who has tried it I guess.

You're not going to notice any difference between A1/A1, A1/A2, or A2/A2 milk.

A2 is a genetically recessive beta-casein, which is not prevalent but has been becoming a new "fad" in the nutrition industry. It's like low-carb diets, Southbeach Diet, juicing, gluten free, etc.

If you feeling adventurous you can go get some raw milk.

The full fat stuff is out of this world good....but it might kill you.

Goat is really good.

There used to be a dairy that sold pasteurized but not homogenized milk.

Check out Fair Life. They make all levels i.e skim, 1%, 2%, whole and chocolate. Available at most chain stores including gender-neutral Target.

Another vote for FairLife. Bought some today with a "best by" date of late October. Once opened it still lasts weeks...I've never thrown any out. 13 g of protein in a cup, 6 g of sugar.

As empty nesters that don't drink a lot of milk, it's great. My friend that can't drink milk can drink this, as it has no lactose.

I've seen a 3-pack at Sam's for I think less than $9, and with the refrigerator shelf life that it has, it's a great buy.

the fair life stuff isn't really milk. It is more like engineered milk. Think of it like engineered floors vs real oak hardwood floors.

Promised Land skim milk is the only skim that remotely tastes like real milk. All their products are good. Their egg nog is awesome too. Just don't schedule a visit with your cardiologist afterwards.

Then they need to be slapped with a lawsuit for false advertising...

"Highest quality real milk filtered for more natural nutrition from farms where we take exceptional care at every step."

The ingredients are ultra-filtered milk, lactase enzyme, vitamin A palmitate, and vitamin D3.
Not sure how that doesn't equate to "real" milk.

I think Mill-King fits the bill of what the OP is looking for.
http://www.mill-king.com/
I've started selling/distributing it at Brothers Produce in and it's become a huge hit at restaurants and coffee shops in Houston.

It's low temperature pasteurized and non-homogenized. Basically as close as you can get to raw milk while still being food safe. The dairy is in the Waco area, all local cows, you can read more about the diet and practices they use with the dairy cows on the website. I know this sounds weird but it just tastes "milkier" to me.

I believe they distribute directly to central market and whole foods.

I actually bought a gallon of mill-king last night. I like it, and I understand what you mean by it tasting "milkier". Good stuff

My wife and I only drink and cook with Mill King, hopefully you can find it in your area. A real milk in the land of watered down milks.

As stated above look for it at central market or whole foods.

I had buffalo milk while I was in India. Also had mango ice cream made from buffalo milk. The fat content is around twice as much, and it is rather delicious.

Mill King has been very good and consistent.

Look for cream on top milk. The less processing the better

If you're in or near aggieland, Home Sweet Farm in Brenham sells Mill-King. I agree, it's really good.

I drink Horizon whole milk when I can't get down to Brenham. It's pretty decent.

Nonag, have you checked with Village Foods or Brazos Natural Foods about carrying Mill-King? We might be able to gin up enough interest to make it worth their while.
