Don't know if there is anything cheaper but if you live in the SA area buying a season's pass makes the most sense. After labor day, buying a season's pass probably will get you 2017 as well.

IHOP had a thing going where 70 bucks got you a $40 IHOP gift certificate and 4 tickets. the voucher expires sept 11th, so I'm not sure if the deal is still being offered.
Dang it. We went yesterday and paid close to full price. On a good note, the park was almost empty yesterday. Almost no lines.
