Trying to decide what to plant in this bed in front or our house. We had a gumball maple tree removed. Thinking maybe irises or small bedding plants or should I go back with a small tree like a crape Myrtle or little gem magnolia?

Some kind of flowering tree? Redbud, pear, dogwood?

Crepe Myrtle? Maybe one of the dwarf ones?

If it was me, I would remove the tree between the two windows, line the azaleas up to where they are outside/between the windows (not blocking windows), then level the old tree area and let the grass grow. Or reduce the old tree bed to where it is just a 1.5 foot runner along the sidewalk and plant some bedding flowers (something lower to the ground with color)

I am digging up a healthy crepe myrtle as it's too shaded where I have it planted and it's not flowering. I'm in the woodlands, yours if you want it!

Here is the finished product. We planted African Irises in the empty bed and went with a Savannah Holly in front of the house.
