Have a short-term rental in College Station. Our annual maintenance plan report recommends we clean the furnace blower. They sent pics and it looks pretty dirty. Is this a job I can manage, or should I hire it out? I'm fairly handy; appliance repairs, spark plugs, etc. but I haven't ventured into HVAC besides replacing a capacitor on the outside unit. Any thoughts/recommendations are appreciated.

Taking the blower wheel out of the furnace housing to brush / vacuum the blades, etc. Sorry should have been more clear.

Generally not too difficult to do, once you take the cover off the unit you should immediately be able to see if it is going to be a pain. My concern with letting the service company do it is that there are some companies around that once they take it out to they will find a reason to say it needs to be replaced, which isn't cheap. For some reason furnace motors are stupid expensive.
