Live oak honeydew

I have a live oak tree that extends over my driveway. Lately it's been dropping a sap-like substance that I've learned is honeydew. After reading some articles I thought it was aphids but when I look at the tree I don't see any bugs. It looks like it's dripping from the acorn cones. It typically drips in the early morning hours and then stops when it becomes light. Then during the day honeybees are all over it sucking up the honeydew.

Anyone else have this issue? I'd like to stop it so I can park my car in my driveway again. I'm tired of washing my car every two days.

Not able to help with your issue, but I have a Magnolia right next to my driveway and I feel your pain.

Some trees just seem to do it. Cedar elms and moreso hackberry will do the same thing.
