When I signed up I talked to the VP on the phone for about 20 minutes. They have been in business for 2 years, have about 1000 subscribers right now but just started advertising a lot, signed on Michael berry to advert for them. They used to own Amigo energy then sold it, found out that their friends had a difficult time figuring out PowerToChoose.com so the owners sat down and figured out that it is very difficult to figure it out and what the website shosw isn't what you pay. They decided to go thru every single company and create true costs including all fees, then they check the market every day on every account to see if they can find you the absolute best deal available, even if that means possibly paying to get out of a contract if will save more money later. They only make money off of subscribers and you have a money back guarantee, so if everyone drops them they are SOL but it also forces them to give a very high level of customer service. They pulled my service for the last 12 months and compared it to what their other customers were paying while on their service and I overpaid about $1200. Kinda make me sick, I felt like I was getting a pretty decent deal with Reliant until my contract expired and I was too busy to shop the market and their "best and only" deal was some 18 month crap with higher rates, but that high rate was less than my out of contract price and I didn't have time to mess with it. Their service is worth the $120/year to me if I'm going to save even $500.
If they go out of business you will still be signed up with your current provider, then you will go back to picking your providers as usual.
You can set up your preferences for auto pay or renewable and you give them your info and they sign you up with the companies. They will create a username and password and act upon your behalf to move you around as they see fit. I set mine to auto pay preferred and they moved me out of reliant and into Cirro with a 6 month plan. I got en email from Cirro with my new account number and autopsy confirmation. If I needed or wanted my login info I can call energy ogre and get that info. They are working on making a customer profile page on their site that will give you your customer login info for your current provider and keep track of all the changes and how much money you have saved but it isn't quite finished yet.
They try to get the summer rates locked in around marchish when it is cheaper then after September they try to go back to a month to month and shop around for the cheapest available.
You should call them or watch the video on their site. The reps are very very helpful and they will answer all your questions.
