***FIXED FROM SUPPORT CALL - SEE MY NEXT POST***

I recently purchased a Honeywell RTH6580WF Wifi Thermostat to replace a 15 year old Trane thermostat:

The old tstat didn't have a C wire nor were there any extra unused wires coming out of the wall. I'm not sure exactly what type of system I have (thinking heat pump) so that probably part of my problem but even going down those alternate wiring instructions I get confused. For example I have a brown wire labeled T from the old tstat leftover.

Here is how the old one was wired:
Black X2
Orange O
Green G
Yellow Y
Brown T
Red R
White W
Blue B

Looks like you're on target. From the manual (page 19),

Correct wiring from support call:

Black X2 --> AUX/E
Orange O --> O/B
Green G --> G
Yellow Y --> Y
Brown T --> Unused, taped off
Red R --> R (with jumper to Rc)
White W --> AUX/E
Blue B --> C
