pulling and distance

Lately, I've been trying to somewhat level out my traditionally very steep swing. It leads to more shoulder turn, but I've also been coming around my body more and pulling my irons. I've figured out I can do this pretty consistently, and I get more distance and seem to make great contact more often.

I normally shoot in low 90's / upper 80's, so I have no lofty expectations other to enjoy the round. Any reason not to just start setting up more to the right and playing my pull?

Normally that type of approach leads to more problems

by "steep" do you mean "upright"? There is a difference between posture and swing plane...need to be clear here.

How do you know you are too steep? and why do you think that? When you start to flatten out, you will hit the ball more left on occasion because you are swinging more around yourself an weight transfer starts to change. Speaking as someone who is trying to get away from that - these are just my thoughts.
