During Jack's talk, he said that in the 1960s Arnie flew the 2 of them to Seagraves, TX for an exhibition. I grew up in west Texas but have never heard of this. Does anyone on here have any memory or knowledge of Jack and Arnie playing in Seagraves?

Never heard that but would like to know if true. Pretty remote place to host an exhibition, though.

I live out on the S Plains and have played that course a few times - pretty good course for a county track! You'd think they'd have pics all over the clubhouse walls, tho (which I've never seen).

Does Seagraves actually have a course, or is it Gaines County CC in Seminole?

I have family that lived in seagraves during that time period, it is indeed true. I've heard the story many times.

Can you give any details, like who paid for that. That was my first thought when Jack said this during the memorial.

You do know Arnold flew his own planes and was a rather good pilot...

Yes I do. But even in the 1960s, Jack and Arnie were not going to Gaines County for free.
