I saw your discussion on GolfWRX and figured this was coming.

About that sound - I remember the original Ping Zing 2 driver sounded like two champagne glasses clinking on New Year's Eve. Do the newest generation drivers have the same sound?

The newer generations are louder than my SLDR.

However, G30 LST is not even in the ballpark of something like the Nike SasQuach...echoing for a half a mile.

I'm already used to the sound, and I don't really even think about it when I'm on the box.

So. Tempting.

Buy with confidence, folks. Bought a black R1 from jj a while back and it was better than advertised.

Man, I love this set. I think 712 AP2s are the best iron they've made. I have 9 rounds under my belt with them. And the 08 AP2 4 iron is actually great because the tungsten runs toe to heel and not just center, so I still get good distance on slight mis-hits with that thing.

Like I said in another post, you gave me a steal of a deal.

I'm still bummed out I missed this thread yesterday. Been looking at the G30 to replace my SLDR. Oh well, found a good deal on range finder and bought that instead to ease my pain.
