Went to golfsmith today to pick up a club I had sent in to Ping.
I went to hit a couple of balls and as I hit the first one this young child comes running into the hitting area narrowly avoiding a golf ball off the face of my driver. Her dad was hitting balls a few bays down. I waited to see if was going to notice or even say anything and nothing for about 5 minutes. Finally he notices and asks her to get back behind him. I probably should have said something but I was trying to calm my nerves.
So two things:
If you are a parent please pay attention to your kid in an area like that. I wondered at all if he was aware how close she was to being decapitated.
Always be aware of your surroundings when hitting golf balls. It's almost like being on a gun range or hunt at times. I have a good friend who is missing teeth because of he walked into a guy swinging a driver.
