Should this be avoided? I think I read somewhere that "fake/knock off" clubs find their way there.

I wouldn't worry about Amazon, as long as you're buying from Amazon and not just from some bum selling stuff on Amazon. ebay, on the other hand, is a crapshoot.

The manu. will tell you only buy from an authorized dealer to guarantee you are getting real clubs. Is Amazon an authorized dealer?
