Here was a funny post I saw on Facebook: Why yes, this sends such a strong powerful message that Baylor will not allow even a hint of violence against women to rear its ugly head on campus (note the sarcasm)
I mean, not as much as keeping Lacedarius on the BBall team did. Or telling players they will not play if they are arrested (what a wild concept there!) But that honorary degree from 10 years ago, why yes, that totally instills confidence that Baylor takes violence against women seriously.

Oddly, I doubt anyone outside of a handful of senior (read old) faculty even knew he had one. Now they make a public announcement? Yeah, there's nothing gratuitous about that.

What's the point of publicizing this? Private university, private Board meeting. Take the vote, send Cosby the letter informing him of the action taken, and scrub the official web-sites of references to him.
