The only surprise here is how quickly it's happening. A&M combined with the name brand of the SEC is like a tidal wave that is washing over the state.

I don't see this as Cook trying to take credit. He's simply presenting the information.

Johnny definitely played a bit role in that, but I think it's more than just Johnny. I think it's A&M's visibility thanks to the platform of the SEC. We're playing in more big games than ever before, and we've won some of them. That combined with Johnny has created a lot of buzz about the program, and more folks are catching on.

It is not just t-shirt fans. I'd venture to say that a big chunk of our graduates were completely disengaged. Moving to the SEC spiked interest, you might remember interest level was already on the uptick before that announcement. And then Johnny happened, and the whole thing exploded. I've never seen a more perfect storm occur, and the interest level has maintained itself fairly nicely even without Johnny.

JFF was more than a bit player. Many people were interested in Aggie football because they wanted to see what dynamic miracles he'd come up with. Everybody knew Johnny's name. Not near as many could name 3 other players on the team.

Now. Certainly the SEC and A&M brands have helped continue the momentum.

Being in the spotlight of national TV nearly every week hasn't hurt... of course the sips with their POS, taco making, yoga instructing channel wouldn't know sh-t about that.

Johnny wouldn't have been on such a big stage multiple times without the SEC move and wouldn't have been in a position to succeed without Sumlin. I think Sherman would've had Showers starting.
