I'll pile it on the sips anytime I can, but Austin > College Station.

Bit you probably don't see it on there because it's a city and not really a college town.

Austin used to be great but now it's just overcrowded, under-developed and has its pretentious head so far up its own butt that it can taste its own tonsils.

...and it's not a college town.

This is what's referred to as an opinion... and just like the article, I disagree with yours.

Maybe you should move to asstin and never return to College Station.

Houston is THE college town in Texas. Forget this magazine's (or whatever it is) metrics....

Austin is a great city and probably a cool place to live as a young working adult post college. It's expensive, a night out of fun in Austin at least double a night out in Cstat. A night out in Northgate is assured of being filled with the under about 23 set and not many shady characters. Yes there is more diversity of people and things to do in Austin but that's not what college students want. They want fun with friends and a place they can afford to go to! For college at a minimum Cstat > Austin. No brainer

Austin is not a college town anymore. It's closer to L.A. than College Station.

What population would CS need in order to have people say it's a great town? Athens and Knoxville are around 300K. I believe that Austin was about 400K or 450K before it became known as "cool," IIRC.

Yep, last time I checked, Highway 6 still ran both ways.
