We college graduates look for context clues, such as his statement immediately preceding, in which he states tu needs to win some games first. Meaning is pretty clear stevo.

There's no question about what he meant. His 6-7 team was run out of the stadium by an SEC squad that only managed 2 conference wins over the last 2 years. Strong likes the idea of adding a rivalry game with A&M, but he got blown out in 5 games last year and doesn't want to make it 6.

No Stevetex is right. Charlie was joking about needing to win football games and being afraid of playing A&M. Charlie doesn't believe he actually needs to win football games. As long as he kicks enough players off the team, he will continue to receive his paycheck.

In all seriousness though, there is a difference between nervous laughter and laughing at your own joke.

Last summer he said his team wouldn't compete for the playoffs. Now he says they aren't even ready to drive 2 hours to play 'ol ****ty Aggie. He's just full of knee slappers. At this rate he'll be walking into pressers this fall asking Chip Brown to pull his finger.

Of course he wouldn't, but he'd make his team walk there. Such a badass coach, really knows how to bring out the best in his players. Like going 6-7 with a team full of 4 and 5 star players while the rest of the conference (outside of OU) basically recruits with two arms tied behind their backs.
