We're headed to Seattle then Vancouver to go on a cruise. Any things particular we should do in Seattle? Or Vancouver?
Cruise season starts first of May, so my first response would be to check with you respective cruise lines/travel for suggestions to ensure that any things you want to/try to do work with your timelines. Also, they will have nay updates on sites that may be impacted (temporary closures, construction, etc.
For Seattle, the main laundry list of major sites is pretty typical:
1. Pike Place Market/"original Starbucks"
2. Space Needle/Seattle Center/Chihuly Glass Museum/Olympic Sculpture Park/EMP
3/ Museum of Flight/Seattle Art Museum
4. Catch a mariners game. (the team sucks, but the game day is fun, our stadium is awesome, and the temperatures are pleasant)
5. Seattle Waterfront
6. Take a ferry ride (and back) to Bremerton
7. Ballard locks
8. Boeing tour
9. A day trip to Mt Rainier
10. Snoqualmie falls
All of those (except the Boeing tour/trip to Rainier/Falls) can be done in 2-3 days, if scheduled well. The Boeing tour is up in Everett, and would consume a lot more of your time. Rainier is a FULL day trip. The Falls are only 30 minutes outside of Seattle, near Mt Si (Twin Peaks from the tv series).
If you are into food, we have a lot of renowned restaurants across many cuisines - "PacNorthwest", Asian, Asian/fusion, etc.
Lots of smaller focused museums, (boating, fishing, Museum of Industry, Asian-related museums
Many spectacular gardens (the one at UW, etc).
