On paper he should never have been able to land a draft like this. 3 guys in the top 10 (conservative ranking). Now we know we were able to do this partly in part having not signed Brady last year, but in the end I think we will greatly appreciate that deal falling through.

It's not only getting the 3 guys in the top 10 that's impressive, but getting them without sacrificing any later picks. It's not like we drafted guys with major signability issues later and just conceded signing them to get the top 3 signed.

We got who we wanted at the top while also securing our depth picks as well.

He be a slapdick when it comes to password protection, but when drafting Lunhow is a mastermind.

Agree 100%. Don't know why Gattis isn't in the lineup. Hoping to see Lowrie back soon. Any word on his return?

Correa in the 3 spot tonight. That's big time.
Not a fan of Singleton over Gattis. I'd rather see Gattis in the clean up spot and Valbuena in the 7 or 8 hole.

I don't know what the hell you do when lowrie comes back... start him vs lefties and valbuena against righties?

I don't see how you leave lowrie out of the lineup... he's a great ##2 hitter. That said valbuena hits too many diners not to play.

Exactly how bad of a catcher defensively is Gattis?

They were just talking about that on 790. They seemed to think that they'd splitbtime depending on pitching matchups. However, I'd imagine that either Valbueana or Lowrie could play 1st. Carter is probably the worst offensively of the 3, but probably the best defensively at 1st out of the 3.

All in all, any of these options are better than Brett Wallace at 1st

Gattis is a huge liability, regardless of where he plays. In a dream world we would put him at catcher... But you can't do that with all of these young pitchers.
