Last week Missouri scored 5 goals and Tennessee had 5 goals scored on them... so of course tonight Tennessee beats Missouri 2-0. It's going to be a wild year in the SEC.

Florida and Arkansas must have been delayed. Arky up 2-0 at the half.

NC State 1, UNC 0 ... that is NC State's 2nd win over their rival in the 48 games they have played each other

The South Carolina/Auburn game is looking pretty big ... and kudos to Arky for the huge win over the Gators.

Arkansas has now beaten Duke and Florida at home. I'm not sure A&M has ever beaten two Top 5 opponents at home in the same season? Colby Hale has it rolling right now at Arkansas and if it were not for an inexplicable loss to GW on the road, they might be ranked in the top 3-4 nationally. The playing conditions were ridiculous and embarrassing for Arkansas though - how about installing some drainage system?

Talk about a fortunate break in scheduling for A&M this year - no Florida or Arkansas which are the two best teams in the conference right now. A&M will be favored in every game remaining on the schedule, with South Carolina being the only good side that is dangerous on paper. Of course, if Bates is out for an extended period we will struggle to create offense and teams can match up on Pounds and put pressure on Harvey to produce goals. I'd like to see us play Arkansas in the SEC tourney because I want to know how we match up against them this year.

How often does A&M even play two top 5 teams at home in the same season? It turns out it's only happened twice:

1998
(#4) Florida ... L, 1-0 (OT)
(#3) Santa Clara ... L, 3-0

2006
(#3) North Carolina ... W, 1-0 (2OT)
(#2) Penn State ... T, 1-1 (2OT)

So, the answer is no. However, the Aggies did "beat" two top 5 teams in the same season:

2002
home - (#3) Texas ... W, 2-1
away - (#3) UCLA ... T, 0-0 ... advanced on penalties, 3-1

I was thinking (#2) Portland (3-1 win in 2009) was the highest ranked team A&M has ever beaten at home. It was actually (#1) Texas in 2007 (2-0 win). And yes, the Horns were hardly a #1 team, but they did return the favor in the NCAA Tournament. But let's not talk about that.

Yes, please don't bring up the 2007 game. That was similar to the LSU 89 baseball game.
