Chair seating area measures 20"W x 18.5"D. All wood pieces are at least 1" thick. Teak is suitable for use indoors and outdoors. This set has never been used outdoors. Teak is a very low maintenance wood. Water spots, water rings, etc. can be eliminated by restoring the finish with a coat of teak oil. If you've priced teak furniture, you know it's not cheap.
