A lot of people like to talk about us having unrealistic expectations with Jimbo (when in reality every Aggie I talk to knows it will take a few years to expect conference titles or more) but every Arky Hog I talk to acts like we got stuck with Jimbo because Morris turned us down and they will beat us by 50 this year and expect to contended for the SEC title this year. I'm assuming the 5 or so hogs I've talked to are their delusional minority of fans or are they all that delusional? I watched thier "highlight" film of the spring game and all I saw was a bunch of quick video clips of zone read handoffs but talking to the ones I know you'd think thier spring game displayed an unstoppable offensive juggernaut. Please tell me there are non insane hog fans out there?

I think just making a bowl game would be considered a success in Morris' first year.

We have a relatively easy schedule by SEC standards so it's doable. The problem is Morris wants to emphasize speed, speed, speed and we probably have the slowest team in the SEC since Bielema's S&C program wanted a huge, Big 10 style roster.

I watched their Spring game. It was about like any other spring game I have ever seen. There were good plays. There were bad plays.

I will say that it looked a lot like our offense last year.

They have some talent on defense and some decent running backs. They will win a few games.

spring games are so confusing... is it good to look good kicking your own ass?

He was 7-6, just like the coach you're still carrying water for like an idiot. And before that, he was 78-17 in 7 years. That's an AVERAGE of 11 wins per year. The only one better during that span was Saban.

It's important to note that usually a head coach comes in and inherits a team with a losing record. He is getting a team that had a winning record and he is a better coach. Not sayin nattie, but i will disappointed with a losing .500 record

I didn't hear so much about speed as I did about hurrying. Morris seemed to be concerned about the pace at which they were playing more than speed. But I only heard him talk before and after the game, so I could be wrong.

Exactly. Spring scrimmages have turned into such a **** show. It used to be a way for teams to run a few live plays and see how the new guys are catching on to the scheme and to see how far the old guys have progressed. Now it is a media fueled show broadcast on national tv. With analysts doing what analysts do.

Hog fans have incredibly unrealistic expectations EVERY year regardless of who the coach is. I remember when John L. "SMILE" Smith took over for then recently ousted Petrino, and how their fans came on here puffing their chest about how they were going to smoke us with Petrino's players. It is quite literally the same song, different dance with Arky fans every season.

As far as what believe our expectations should be, 8 wins (not counting bowl) should be the minimum barring some key injuries. Those that think we should win 10+ in year one are in for a likely letdown and victim of unrealistic expectations, based on the money those in charge spent for a good coach.

Yes, because it was his team. Are you actually arguing the results would have been different had he been on the sidelines? I'd do the same with Herman at UH. His last team lost the bowl game, but had they won, I'd give him the credit. To do otherwise mischaracterizes the reality of the situation. Are you arguing Jimbo had a losing record last year simply because he wasn't allowed to coach the last game and bowl against two teams Florida State would have rolled with you on the sideline?
