I recall a WR reverse pass in the 1st half of the 2012 Florida game. His first game.

Trick plays typically take time. We had no time.

They tried one. The fake bubble screen to go deep right after the failed bubble screen. Bama saw it coming, I mean I saw it coming. Not sure Mazzone would call them back to back but whatever

Ags had a hard time executing basic plays. Thank goodness they didn't try something dumb and get a pick 6 or fumble it somehow!

when they don't, you look pathetic.

They are too fast and so it wouldn't work.

We attempted a lateral to our back that looked like it was supposed to be a trick pass play, but our back was tackled almost immediately after catching the ball.

Trick plays are result of great timing in when they are called, very disciplined players and extremly well coached in execution.
This is not a bash in any way but we just don't have that type of personell or coaching on the offensive side of ball to have a lot of confidence in running a trick play.

Bush league? Ask Boise state is they feel their 2007 fiesta bowl win over Oklahoma was " bush league".
It's college football... No problem with some razzle dazzle.

Not to mention that if you try a trick play and it doesn't work (like some of your non-trick plays) you may wind up losing the game.

Maybe if Bama was expecting a trick play and they didn't get one - that was the trick. Ever think of that?

If you're neck and neck with a team, a trick play can put you over the top.

Bama is just better. They're not "well, they'd win 6 out of 10" better...they're "we'd win 1 or 2 out of 10" better.

Trick plays are typically high risk, high reward. They'd be as likely to be our undoing as they would be to do anything else.

Boise's trick plays were on the last play of the game and in OT, which basically provest hey were on even footing with OU in that game.

We just weren't there with this Bama team, and no amount of flea flickers (which would likely have produced a fumble given how often our RBs were hit immediately after the exchange) or double reverses (which would have gotten blown up seeing as Bama doesn't have to overpursue given how great their LBs are at tackles in space) or anything else were going to do much.

There was a direct snap to Kirk while he was in motion against Arkansas. That was kind of a trick play.

Last year I believe we had Ricky throw a pass... maybe Ball State game? Didn't complete it though

Tennessee ran sort of a trick play where the QB hid the ball with his back to the defense after faking a handoff. Almost got him killed.

The air flip to Kirk on the end around was a gadget. It ended poorly due to poor practice and fast defense.

Trick plays and fakes are dependent upon film study or when you've successfully baited your opponent enough to get them to bite on the trick/fake.The onside kick against Clemson only happened because they knew the Tigers lined up their return unit that way all season and the opportunity was there. Against the Volunteers two weeks ago Alabama pulled off a successful reverse because all game long they'd been baiting the d-line into over pursuing. A few years ago, one of Saban's teams pulled off a fake field goal against Arkansas that had McCarron throwing a nice TD pass to OJ Howard. As with Clemson, film study had shown that the Hogs would be susceptible to it.
