Here is a graphic showing the Heisman winning QBs from the past ten seasons (plus Deshaun Watson and Baker Mayfield) and their QB Points added. It's related to their new Expected Points Added statistic, and shows QBs performance in relation to average expected play at the position.



The article (on this year's Heisman class) is here. If I'm interpreting this correctly, Johnny Maziel added almost 12 points per game as opposed to what you would expect from average QB play.

something is wrong with the metric if Sam Bradford is in the top 5. He just stood behind a brick wall that entire season (against one terrible defense after another)

Hmm, you must remember a different Sam Bradford than I do. He was one of the most accurate passers we've ever seen at the college level. Sure he was on a good team, but he was a crazy good college QB.

Thank you. Mike Evans was a beast and I'm glad he was here. Johnny RAN for the same amount of yards that he threw to Evans. Plus another 5400 yards throwing. He was an amazing player

regarding Cam in 2010...it took about a month for Auburn's offense to get rolling. Struggled at times vs. State and Clemson in September of that year

The similarities between Cam and Johnny was their determination to win. Watching Auburn that season, you just knew Cam would score whatever he needed to. And his defense wasn't that great so he had to come from behind late in games a few times.

Like Johnny.

If you just go back at watch a few full games from 2012, you realize how dominant he was. Even against LSU, he played well enough for us to win. The kid is a legend.
