Nice gesture, think Mike would like some big longhorn steaks more though. Sad situation.
queso- always heard there was a time for everything so I guess there's a time to be a jerk. But this ain't it. This was a nice, good sports gesture to a fellow SEC school who has been a long tme rival.
The gesture also touched me because when I grew up in Baton Rouge as a kid my Dad would take my brother and me to campus a lot to see Mike the Tiger in his cage. Lotta years ago, different Mike, a lot different cage. But good memories that come close to home.
My sympathy to LSU fans. My Dad was one.

LSU fans - always sucks to lose a loved mascot. Glad to see there's always mutual respect to be shown (by most). Please ignore any jerks on here as they are not representative of Texas A&M.

Mike may be the coolest mascot in college. If you ever have a chance to go see him on their campus do it.
By the way, my LSU buddy said that PETA is going to push hard against them getting a new tiger... Would be a shame if that's the case.

Her is a Mike the Tiger story from my wife's grandfather. Not the same Mike obviously, but still a good story.
Grandfather was one of the handlers for Mike. The put Mike in a trailer and drove him around the field before the games. After a game, they took the trailer with doors open and drove around a bad neighborhood near the campus yelling out the window, "Here Mike, come on Mike. Get back in your house Mike!"
Watching people scramble in their houses made him laugh even this many years later.
