4th round picks spending first round money is stupid. Being a first round pick and living up to the hype means it's only a drop in the bucket, especially when you get to your 2nd and 3rd contract.

A Bentley on a first contract is probably dumb, but in a day and age where people making $100k/yr spend $70k+ on a SUV, is it really far fetched to spend $200k on a car when you're averaging $4mm/yr? That's not taking into account endorsement deals several first round picks get.

Prove yourself, made the team and GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE.

Let's say he drives the bentley 4 years. That's less than 2% of his gross.

Or like a person making $100k buying a moped for 4 years

Bonuses are taxed at the highest bracket regardless of amount. A $7,500 Christmas bonus is still taxed in the highest bracket.

Exactly. The point of my post was to show the contrast between signing bonus in a crap city vs huge deserving upside. Browns hit a home run here in my opinion. LOVE Mike Matthews! He'll certainly make his millions once he proves himself. So happy for him. Just hope he doesn't stay in Cleveland long. Could be a victim of his own success.
