Ole Miss really had a good night actually.

3 first round picks and free advertising that they pay their top players.

What recruit wouldn't be interested?

Tunsil doesn't have to talk to the ncaa

The ncaa would need proof of an exchange of money

And beyond all that, the ncaa may already know about this. He was suspended several games last year.

That suspension was for benefits from an agent I believe, not the school.

Tunsil doesn't have to talk to the investigators, but those on the other end of the texts do

Are the messages and tunsils response enough to hang ole miss or is more needed?

Does there have to be clear proof that money exchanged hands, like bank statements?

The texts aren't enough.

The NCAA doesn't need clear proof or a "beyond a reasonable doubt" level of proof... they can pretty much do what they want (and take the chance of getting sued).

I'm sure they will investigate the other side of things (coach and person referenced (Barry?)), and once they start tugging on those strings there is a good chance more will unravel.

The NCAA had beyond reasonable doubt type of proof that JFF sold his autographs. But once the dealers said they would not talk to the NCAA we did the smart thing by lawyering up and threatening to sue if they did anything without absolute proof.
It used to be that if schools were not seen as cooperating they were automatically penalized. Not so anymore. Just hire lawyers and manage the PR as well as you can. It worked for us. It will work for them.
