All this does is continue to highlight the utter insanity that is "amateur" sports at all levels. Calling someone an amateur means someone else is getting their money. Unless it's the Olympics of course: then EVERYONE shares in the money including the athlete.

Ole Miss boards think they have "self-sanctioned" already by undersigning the last few recruiting classes. So, the theory goes they have awarded less schollies in football, so the NCAA will just bless that and move on.

I have to agree with the poster who says that it "sounds like those around here that think that Johnny did nothing wrong"..... I think we have so many problems of our own with Johnny, players leaving , piss poor recruiting, 500 million dollar stadium fiasco, poor coaching ,etc. ........ We look silly trying to beat other teams off the field instead of on it.
Investigation is ongoing and NCAA continuing to find new evidence. The NCAA slowly strangles programs.
I almost feel sorry for the Texas HS players that signed to play for that bunch of scumbags. The OM gravy train is ending.
