It's probably a little late.
He has no reason to reach out after one of the biggest accomplishments of his life. While others run to distance themselves from Johnny, Von shows him love.

Just a small example of the love and support that all Aggies extend to Johnny. We're all hoping for the best for him. It's completely up to him whether he wants to embrace it or not. He's still young, he has time to learn some life lessons, and it's not about football anymore.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Imagine JFF going to the Broncos this offseason after getting cut by the Browns... there's nothing to lose in that scenario.

I think everyone in Aggieland is hoping Johnny can get his life together. We have thrown support behind him for years-even when he didn't care enough to properly learn the War Hymn. After the latest incident Johnny was involved in, hard to support the guy.
Do hope people like Von can still get behind him and bring back Johnny Football.

Difference between Von and Johnny...
Johnny has repeatedly promised to do better. He never has.
He looks at his multi-million dollar contract to play the game of football in one hand...
He looks at his Grey Goose bottle in the other hand...
And he goes with the drink instead.

The logic is different for an addict. It doesn't matter what's in the other hand. The drink is needed to feel human, alive, or to forget whatever it is they are running from. They don't go through the same logical choice a non-addict would.
(Not defending Johnny, or even claiming he's an addict. But he is a grown man whos responsible for his choices. If he's an addict, then he needs help. But only he can make that choice to get it)
If you think alcohol is Manziel's only problem then you have another thing coming. Von Miller's only problem is the whacky weed. He is solid everywhere else. Manziel is a train wreck.

No joke. It's like some people think it's perfectly normal to roll $100 bills into straws in nightclub bathrooms.
For a certain segment of the population(which is larger than your southern baptist mind comprehends) it is a normal thing to do. The real problem, is they aren't paid millions of dollars to play football. Just party in the offseason, seems simple.

Aggie coach (and former A&M QB). Aggie MVP with past drug suspension. Yeah, why not.
I'm sure Von's purpose was to convey encouragement from the side of someone who knows how easy it is to make a choice that boomerangs.
